Alch Nominated to Dedham Court

Gov. William F. Weld has nominated Judge Gerald Alch of Brookline as associate justice of the Dedham District Court.

Alch, 63, was appointed to the District Court as a circuit judge in 1990, prior to which he was in private practice since 1974. A first lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force in the Judge Advocate General Department from 1958 to 1961, Alch began his legal career as an associate with the law offices of Irving H. Sheff in 1957.

Alch is an adjunct professor at New England School of Law and is an appointed member of the Jury Management Advisory Committee. He is also a member of the Professional Development Group on Operating Under the Influence Cases.
