Worcester Driver Suffers “Serious” Head Injury in Collision With Road Plate

A man from Rutland, Massachusetts suffered what Worcester police called “serious” head injury  after the SUV he was driving struck a steel road plate at a construction site on February 26.

Witnesses said a front-end loader was moving a steel road plate at a construction site on Worcester’s Southwest Cutoff when a GMC Yukon SUV struck the plate, partially shearing off its roof. The driver had cuts on his head but was conscious.

This accident raises significant questions about safety at the construction site, including why drivers were in the area while the road plate was moved and whether the plate was moved correctly.

An accident like this can be a cause of a life-altering head injury. As leading brain injury lawyers in Massachusetts, Sheff Law recognizes the importance of neurological testing following any significant head trauma, even if the person who suffers the injury remains conscious and alert.

Getting knocked out or losing consciousness are not requirements for significant brain injury. Anyone suffering a significant hit to the head should seek an examination from a neurologist to evaluate the potential for brain injury.

Sheff Law provides free case evaluations in brain injury, construction site accident and car accident cases, as well as all other cases involving civil law. Contact us online or call us at 1-888-423-4477 for a no-obligation review of your case.
